Actors Wanted!

As we head into Autumn and the cold weather starts to bite, we’re delighted to be able to announce a bit of good news for the performers out there amongst you. British Touring Shakespeare are currently looking for actors to take part in the launch of our pioneering new Guerilla Shakespeare initiative, and we hope to be able to offer everyone who gets in touch a role! Guerilla Shakespeare Launch

British Touring Shakespeare are very excited to announce the launch of a pioneering new classical performance initiative. Guerilla Shakespeare will be a regular event in which we cast a Shakespeare play, give the actors the script to learn their lines and then just let them turn up and perform the show with no rehearsal, direction or prior contact with the rest of the cast. It may create some powerful and sponataneous moments of performance or it might just be a bit of a mess! We’re hoping for the former but we know it’s going to be an unmissable spectacle either way.

To launch this groundbreaking new method of bringing the Bard’s work to life, we’ve decided to set ourselves as big a challenge as possible, so on Saturday 26th November we will be giving a guerilla performance of heavyweight tragedy King Lear at a major new venue in London’s West End.

Tickets are now on sale for both of our Autumn productions. The Woods Are Lovely at London Horror Festival

Facsimile Productions are delighted to announce that they will be staging the world premiere of ‘The Woods Are Lovely’ by Stephen Middleton as part of the 2011 London Horror Festival at the Courtyard Theatre, London. This gripping new horror piece builds up a slow atmosphere of menace as a British couple camping in the Canadian woods find a log cabin abandoned in the woods, or so they think, with chilling consequences. It will run from Tuesday 8th to Sunday 20th November 2011 directed by Andrew Hobbs. Ticket information and more details to follow shortly.

BTS to stage Dr Faustus at the White Bear

British Touring Shakespeare are delighted to announce that they will be staging a dark and modern take on Christopher Marlowe’s ‘Dr Faustus’ at the White Bear Theatre in Kennington. The show will run from Tuesday 27th September to Sunday 2nd October. It will be directed by artistic director Andrew Hobbs and star accomplished BTS performer Robert Paul as Faustus.
