Next Live Radio Show Thursday 9th May

by andy on May 2, 2013

Following on from our successful debut on the airwaves last month, we are delighted to announce our next show on Kilburn to Kensal radio which will be going out live from 8 to 10pm on Thursday 9th May. We asked the audience of the last show to name it live on air and the result was ‘Much Ado About Rock’! We’ve taken that concept and run with it so each show from now on will be named after a different Shakespeare play with one word replaced with the word ‘rock’. Genius eh? Our May show will therefore be called (drumroll please)… ‘The Merchant Of Rock’. As usual it will be hosted by Andrew Hobbs and produced by Howlin’ Anton Bleak. We’re currently finalising a stellar line up of guests who we’ll be announcing soon, but in the meantime this is your show so if you’ve got any song requests or anything you’d like to hear performed please get in touch and let us know via the Facebook event page https://www.facebook.com/events/625469727482097/ or on Twitter @BTSFacsimile #k2kradio and be sure and tune in at www.ktokradio.com on Thursday 9th May at 8pm.

We’ve hit the ground running in 2013 and already have several fantastic projects lined up! Later this week we’ll be recording a pilot for a brand new arts based radio show, so we’ll let you know when and how you can listen once it’s on the air. We’ve also just confirmed that later this year we’ll be presenting the London premiere of a fantastic new play so details of this production and how you can get involved will be coming soon. Lastly we’ve got some very exciting plans for Guerilla Shakespeare this year so watch this space and all be revealed shortly.

Guerilla Shakespeare at War In The Park 2012

by andy on July 13, 2012

It’s been four years since British Touring Shakespeare’s last open air summer season, and while the miserable weather so far this summer definitely makes us feel like we made the right decision to take a break from regular outdoor touring after 2008′s five star season of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, we must admit that we do miss the energy and purity of outdoor performance. So when War In The Park, Europe’s premier al fresco guerilla arts festival, asked us if we would consider staging a Guerilla Shakespeare production at this year’s event on Sunday 26th August, we naturally jumped at the chance. We’re going to keep the details of exactly what you can expect to see under wraps until the day itself, but suffice to say there will be some very special Shakespeare performances going on throughout the day in between some top quality acoustic music and spoken word. Full details on how to watch or take part on our Guerilla Shakespeare page.
